To the Editor,Back in 2009, when Tecumseh Carnegie Preservation League was formed, the Carnegie building was full of mold and the foundation was in terrible shape, so much that people who know these things indicated that it was 1-2 winters before it would reach the point of no return.
To the Editor,Once again, I must offer a rebuttal to Dr. Gehrke’s 11/28 Obamacare letter. I hate to say it, but there you go again, doctor, dodging, distracting, then criticizing working Americans who will be harmed by this. And I absolutely disagree that “little is gained,” or that people who disagree “do harm,” or are “less than valueless.” That’s a rather arrogant, condescending attitude toward those of us who will be paying for it.
Hardwoods of Michigan, Inc./Tri-County Logging recently received a flag from the Department of the Air Force in honor of the company’s support of Senior Airman Adam Walden, a nearly 20-year employee of Hardwoods of Michigan. “The flag is treasured by Hardwoods of Michigan,” said Vice President Jeff Mercy. “It is a reminder that freedom is never free.”Richard Service, a Clinton High School graduate, started the sawmill 40 years ago. Both a sawmill and a logging operation, the company employs 111 people from the tri-county area.“I’m proud of our company,” Mercy said.

To the Editor, All this discussion about cats reminded us of the old commercial of a Fireman on ladder rescuing a cat up a tree and distracted us from sincerely thanking all the Fire Fighters that helped so many of us during this last storm. With trees blocking roads and poles and wires down they did a wonderful job in responding to us and to others that evening. Our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you. Long-time Tecumseh residents Bill and Cathy Stone have recently added a new facet to their retirement ventures. The couple has taken classes at the William Holland School of Lapidary, located in Young Harris, Georgia, and use their skill as artisans to fashion jewelry and art pieces from stones, gems and minerals. Their work is displayed in the Michigan Wares space at Grey Fox Floral. With a name that blends well with their interests, the Stones have both had experiences that serve them well now.

To the Editor,A lot has been said lately about the feral cat/domestic cat situation in Tecumseh. If you haven't had the pleasure of experiencing a Cat Colony in your neighborhood then this may not be of concern to you. But for those of us who have we ask that you please reconsider the problem. Because if not dealt with this colony may end up on your block and the health and safety implications for you and your family and pets are important.Semantics are everything. What is tame? What is domesticated? What is Feral? What is a Cat Colony?
To the Editor,I would like to acknowledge and applaud all those involved in the TYT’s recent production of The Wizard of Oz. The cast and crew performed exceptionally, and collectively presented one of the most amazing shows I’ve had the pleasure of attending. The three-hour performance was superb in every way imaginable! There is tremendous talent in this community, and I hope our citizens will continue to embrace and support the efforts of TYT. Jana PorterfieldTipton
To the Editor,I am writing in regards to the feral cat problem a problem brought on by ourselves. I am sorry to see the animals have to suffer because of us. Cats don’t have to be a year old to have kittens, can have up to three litters a year and up to six kittens a litter. A few years ago we had a bunch of kittens outside and my daughter and I got all the kittens, with the help of an organization live trapped several of the adults and since then we have had and have regularly one of the actual cats that was live trapped and one other one.
Frigid cold weather with a blistering wind did little to keep Clinton High School’s varsity football team from winning the state semifinal to advance to the state final for the first time in school history. Shelby High School was even less of a threat with the Redskins easily defeating the Tigers for a huge 49-3 victory. The big win advances the Redskins to the state final on Friday, Nov. 29, in Detroit at Ford Field, the home of the Lions. Clinton faces undefeated Ithaca; the three-time defending Division 6 state champs at 4:30 p.m.“There is only one thing to say boys.
To the Editor, The rollout of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has been an unmitigated disaster causing untold inconveniences, disappointments, and represents a failure on the part of the government and the current administration. Presidents Obama’s inaccurate and misleading explanations regarding currently owned healthcare policies were a significant error and reflect very poorly on him and his administration. Both of these breaches of public confidence have been acknowledged, owned and amends (solutions) offered.
