Rationalization for opposing presidential candidate questioned

To the Editor,In response to the letter written by Wanda Fish, I am puzzled by her rationalization of why Gov. Romney is not a good choice compared to the sitting President. Everything she pointed out for Romney shows her lack of knowledge about Pres. Obama. Fact: Gov. Romney came into the Governorship facing a Democratic Congress. That alone is a challenge to a new Republican Governor. She writes that Massachusetts newspapers reported a “frosty” or “hostile” relationship. How would one describe Obama’s relationship with the Republican House today? Fact: Pres.

Romney’s values, character are more Presidential

To the Editor; In Pat Zuidema’s 10/29 letter, he was right about something —our next President must have values, honesty, and “character worthy of the White House.” So, Pat, where was that character and leadership when four brave Americans were murdered in Libya? Where was the honesty as Obama’s team conspired to cover it up? Where is the “international respect” you say Obama has?

Planned Parenthood does not perform mammograms

To the Editor,This is in response to the October 25 editorial by Connie Towey.Planned Parenthood does not do mammograms. They are not certified to do mammograms, and they do not have the equipment to do mammograms — even though President Obama has been saying they do in his campaign speeches. It is just not true. Governor Romney intends to end Federal funding for Planned Parenthood if he is elected President. He is not going to abolish Planned Parenthood. Please be well informed before you vote. Most important of all, please vote!Susan BaileyAdrian Township

Liberals have lost sense of humor, oblivious to poverty and unemployed

To the Editor,A few years ago I thought Obamaheads were on Kool-aid or at worst some bad Fizzies. As time has progressed I have witnessed lies, corruption, failed union bailouts, coverups, blown tax dollars, shredding of our constitution, lies about the middle east and in general a thug style operation of our federal government. The only person I can see who is envious of Obama’s behavior would be Kwame Kilpatrick! I have noticed a distinct transformation of nearly all liberals in the last few months. They have lost any sense of humor they had and are totally oblivious to any of the facts.

Walberg voted against cuts to Medicare, seeks to repeal Obamacare

To the Editor,Tim Walberg is working to make government smaller and more accountable, repeal Obamacare’s takeover of healthcare and make it more affordable. He voted to preserve Medicare against $716B in cuts that would ration care and close down medical facilities. He voted to reduce taxes on small businesses and for an energy policy to move us toward energy independence, lower gas prices and create jobs. Tim’s opponent, Kurt Haskell supports the $716B Medicare cut and the government healthcare takeover that will cost us trillions!

Reagan inherited bad economy but didn’t blame President Jimmy Carter

To the Editor,Karin Barbee’s letter of 10/18 trotted out another left-wing fallacy — “Everything is George Bush’s fault.” She fantasizes that things would be wonderful if Obama had inherited a good economy. Well, Karin, Ronald Reagan inherited a much worse economy from Jimmy Carter — 11 percent inflation, 18 percent mortgage rates, rising gas prices, unemployment >10 percent, and weakness overseas. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it?But Mr. Reagan didn’t blame Carter for everything; he put policies in place to grow the economy.

Obama cares, upcoming election about ‘soul, values and honesty’

To the Editor,Character counts. This election is a choice between the soul, values and honesty of the person we want in the White House.Mr. Romney was born into a culture of entitlement. He grew into a Prep School bully who harassed the classmates he considered different and weaker than he. He also thought it funny to direct a blind teacher into a closed door. While at Harvard, he actively picketed for the Vietnam War that sent thousands of his peers into war and to their deaths. He, however, spent the war years in France with four deferments gained with the influence of his father.Mr.
