West Nile Virus has put one heck of a scare in me, it being the end of the world and all, after hearing from a close friend in Ohio who was diagnosed with the new form of plague, so I checked the facts, online, to calm my rabid mind and found out some rather shocking facts I thought you should be aware of. I will be wearing a lot of mosquito repellent in the future and investing in a nice smelling version and I suggest you do the same.
Don Feldman, age 99, of Clear Lake, passed away August 3, 2012 at home.Don was born January 9, 1913 in Jackson, Mich., the son of George and Eva Feldman. On June 24, 1939 he married Bertha Crandall in Jackson, Mich. She preceded him in death on January 22, 2001.Don retired in 1980 with Ryerson & Haynes and worked for 31 years with Kelsey Hayes in Jackson, Mich., Philadelphia, Pa., and Orangeburg, S.C. He was a member of the Rotary Club in Jackson, Mich., and Orangeburg, S.C.
Charles LaVere Anson, 85, passed away Sunday, July 15, in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Peoria, Ariz. Charles was born Jan. 26, 1927, in Dublin, Mich., the son of Hildreth (“Pat”) and Inez Anson. On Thursday, Nov. 25, 1972, he married Sharon King in Lansing, Mich. She survives. Charles and Sharon resided for many years in Rome Center, Mich.Charles spent his career in service to his clients as a social worker and administrator.
Bruce Allen Johnston, age 52, of Antioch, Tenn., (formerly of Tecumseh) passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012. He is survived by his mother, Theresa Johnston; stepfather, Murray Body; father, Russell Johnston; stepmother, Joan; and brother, Dale Johnston. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Tecumseh.
Barbara Ann (Folk) Ashford, age 76, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She was born the daughter of Bert Harold Folk and Marian Elizabeth (Tressler) Folk in Tecumseh, Mich., on February 24, 1936. She graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1954 and had been an active member in the Future Nurses Club and the Girls Athletic Association. Barbara had worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital for eight years as a Patient Companion.?She was best known for her warm smile, her gentle nature and comforting spirit for those that worked with her.
