Knowledgeable staff, free programs for all ages offered at TDL

To the Editor,Value, a word that describes a public library to me. When I am looking for a particular book, movie, newspaper or magazine to enjoy, I ask a librarian for help. The Tecumseh District Library, 215 N. Ottawa Street, Tecumseh, Mich., is my library of choice. This library offers knowledgeable staff, free programs for all ages, and a beautiful place to spend time reading. On May 7, I plan to vote "yes, yes" for the library millage. Yes to renew and yes for a tiny increase in my taxes.

TDL is ‘shining example’ of a ‘healthy and robust’ community

To the Editor,Would you want to live in a town without a library? We wouldn’t! Just realizing that the Tecumseh District Library (TDL) could close or be greatly impaired without the YES vote to renew and slightly increase the millage makes us cringe. The modern condition of the TDL and the innumerable services provided are a significant sign that our community is healthy and robust. We must sustain this shining example of Tecumseh at its best. Before we decided that Tecumseh was to become our home, a visit to the local library was at the top of our list.

Voting yes to support Tecumseh District Library millage

To the Editor,Tecumseh is fortunate to have many reasons to be proud. This includes our remarkable library. As stewards of this program we are asked once again to take responsibility. I swell with pride when I step into this well-run facility. It would be a shame to do anything that would inhibit the library’s existence or operation. I will be voting yes on Tuesday, May 7, for the renewal of the original millage and the addition .2 mill.George EidsonTecumseh

‘Many reasons’ to support the upcoming library millage

To the Editor,I am thinking of the people of Tecumseh as they decide how to vote on the library millage issues on May 7.Our family had just moved to Tecumseh in 2002 when the first millage try went down in defeat. Almost before I knew it, the library was open only ten hours a week. It was appalling.

To the Editor,Features expected from a library include a friendly, and responsive staff, comprehensive children’s section, and easy access to the Internet.Tecumseh Public Library has these… and more!A well organized document room traces Tecumseh history back to its beginnings.

Hometown library is one of its ‘cultural hubs’

To the Editor,It is my great pleasure to live in a community with a vibrant library to enrich its citizenry. From the remarkable personal commitment of the TDL’s Board of Trustees to the generous work of the Friends of the Library, we are fortunate to have individuals in Tecumseh that care so deeply about our access to books (and all kinds of other formats of information) for both personal and professional growth.
