To the Editor,Tim Walberg is working to make government smaller and more accountable, repeal Obamacare’s takeover of healthcare and make it more affordable. He voted to preserve Medicare against $716B in cuts that would ration care and close down medical facilities. He voted to reduce taxes on small businesses and for an energy policy to move us toward energy independence, lower gas prices and create jobs. Tim’s opponent, Kurt Haskell supports the $716B Medicare cut and the government healthcare takeover that will cost us trillions!

To the Editor,Character counts. This election is a choice between the soul, values and honesty of the person we want in the White House.Mr. Romney was born into a culture of entitlement. He grew into a Prep School bully who harassed the classmates he considered different and weaker than he. He also thought it funny to direct a blind teacher into a closed door. While at Harvard, he actively picketed for the Vietnam War that sent thousands of his peers into war and to their deaths. He, however, spent the war years in France with four deferments gained with the influence of his father.Mr.

Terry Lee Keith, age 65, of Clinton died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at home. He was born May 22, 1947 in Gary, Ind., to Edward C. Keith, Jr. and Doris (Drake) Keith Carpenter. Terry was a lifetime resident of the Tecumseh and Clinton area, graduating from Tecumseh High School in 1965. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving at the bases in KI Sawyer, Marquette, Mich., and Bitburg, Germany. Terry was a member of UAW Local 892 in Saline and the Tecumseh V.F.W. Terry was employed at Ford Motor Company retiring in 2002. In 1988 Terry opened TK Originals in Adrian.

Karen Marie Hyder, age 74, of Tecumseh, passed away October 25, 2012 at Herrick Manor. She was born January 25, 1938 in Tecumseh, the daughter of Merrill J. and Hazel I. (Beevers) Murphy. Karen worked as a sewing machine operator at the GM Fisher Body Plant for thirty years, retiring in the mid 90s. She enjoyed making hook rugs and crocheting in her free time. She is survived by her sons Andy Hyder of Tecumseh and Alan Hyder of Bristol, Tenn.; her daughter Bobbie (Michael) Balent of Tecumseh; her sister Cora Alcock of Britton; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

A big 48-0 Tri-County Conference (TCC) victory over visiting Sand Creek on Friday, Oct. 19, has Clinton’s varsity football team heading into the playoffs with a home field advantage. The win gave the Redskins an outright TCC championship and a guaranteed home play-off game.The Redskins have been paired up against Manchester and will play on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m.“We’re very happy for the players who have worked extremely hard to get to this point,” said Clinton coach Scott McNitt.

The resignation of Edward Manuszak as principal of Patterson and Herrick Park Elementary Schools was announced at the Monday, Oct. 22, Tecumseh School Board meeting. Manuszak has accepted the position of assistant superintendent of Bedford Public Schools. His last day with Tecumseh Public Schools will be Friday, Nov. 2, and he will begin his new duties in Bedford on Monday, Nov. 5.Tecumseh Supt.

Tecumseh’s varsity girls golf team finished its season placing eighth in the Division 3 state championship tournament at Bedford Valley near Battle Creek on Saturday Oct. 20. The Indians had a two-day total score of 767 (390, 377) for eighth place while Forest Hills Eastern placed first with 710 (367, 343): BH Cranbrook-Kingswood was second with 712 (355, 357) and Detroit Country Day (363, 350) and Gross Ile (349, 364) tied for third with 713.The top 10 individual placers received medals. Natalie Blazo of Dearborn Divine Child was the low card shooter with 157 (81, 76).

Dennis Michael Dahlen of Adrian, Mich., passed away peacefully on October 9, 2012. Dennis was born in Manhattan, N.Y. on January 27, 1950. He graduated from University of Illinois second in his class with a Master’s in Architecture. He was an avid Bears fan, enjoyed camping with various canine companions over the years, always listened to music and regularly watched old black and white movies late at night.Dennis was also a successful builder in the state of Montana for many years. He loved the Big Sky country and was happiest living in and around the mountains.
