Marion E. Collins

Marion E. Collins, 84, of Fairfield, Wash., formerly of Tecumseh, Mich,  passed away March 13, 2011. Marion was born June 18, 1926. in Glennville, Ga., the daughter of Wally and Lillie (Swindell) Brannen.  She married C. B. Collins, Jr., and he preceded her in death.
 
Marion was a strong Christian and lived her life as a testimony to friends and family.  She was a major part of a Bible Study group at Orchard Terrace Apartments in Tecumseh where she lived.
 
Marion is survived by her children, Randy (Gail) Collins of Atikokan, Ontario, Canada, Elaine (Doug) Howard of Fairfield, Wash. and Marcia Martin of Jasper, Mich.; brother, Billy Joe Brannen of Glennville, Ga.; son-in-law, Terry Parks of Houston, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, C. B., she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Parks; parents; sister, Betty Baxter and brothers, H. C., Bill and Percy Brannen.
 
A celebration of her life will be 1 p.m.. Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with her son, Randy Collins officiating.  Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m., one hour prior to the service.  A private family burial of cremains has taken place at  Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor.

Millard O. Snyder

Millard O. Snyder, Air Force MSGT (Ret), was born March 16, 1931, and passed away at home April 2, 2011. A private service will be held for the family. MSGT Snyder devoted 20 years service to include during the Korean War and Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Juanita “Jean” Snyder; children, Michael (Anna) Snyder, Linda (Don) Martin, Bonnie Milliman, Terry (Shirley) Sisty and Carol Withrow; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Norma Erma Knight

Norma Erma Knight, 80, of Holiday, Fla., formerly of Tecumseh, Mich., passed away on April 3, 2011, at the Heatherhill Healthcare Center in New Port Richey, Fla., surrounded by her family and Hernando Pasco Hospice. Norma was born Jan. 10, 1931, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Karl and Wilhelmina (Schure) Plaar.
 
Norma attended Denby High School in Detroit, Mich. On May 23, 1953, she married Bobbie Dee Knight who preceded her in death on May 9, 2007. Norma worked as a switchboard operator, meter maid for Tecumseh Police Department and was a homemaker. She was passionate about reading fiction, knitting, and gardening. Above all she loved her family.

She is survived by her children, one daughter, Lynda Schutte and her husband, Dane, of Holiday, Fla., two sons, Randy Knight and his wife, Sherry of Surprise, Ariz. and Brian Knight of Tecumseh, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Amber and Aaron Schutte, Jessie Keltner, Randi Jean, Brandon, Jacob and Erica Knight along with four great-grandchildren, Cole and Chloe Schutte, Peyton and Christopher Lekoff, Jocelyn and Jayla Keltner and Ryan Knight and Ethan; one brother, Ronald Plaar and his wife, Carol of Livonia, Mich.; and life-long friend, Beverly Sillich of Sterling Heights, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie D. Knight and her parents.

The burial will be at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh, Mich.
