‘TCA honored to share the performing arts with the community’

To the EditorIt’s hard to believe another great season at the Tecumseh Center for the Arts (TCA) is coming to a close. As we clean up the scene shop and vacuum the glitter from the carpet, there is time to reflect on all of the fantastic performances that have graced the stage this season. In addition to the five National Touring performances hosted by the TCA, residents throughout Lenawee County and beyond had the opportunity to experience two performances by the TCA Big Band and VocalAires, two concerts featuring the Tecumseh Pops Orchestra and Community Chorus, three Tecumseh Youth Theatre productions, the Adrian Symphony Orchestra, the Kiwanis Travel Adventure Cinema film series, and everyone’s favorite holiday ballet; The Nutcracker. The Tecumseh Center for the Arts also proudly hosted the Tecumseh Fiddlers, the Tecumseh Strings Orchestra, the National Homeschool Music Ensemble, students from the Tecumseh Middle School band and choir, along with a plethora of charming Tecumseh Elementary School students, performing their annual concerts. The TCA also hosted dance recitals from Dance Steps Studio, Encore Dance Studio, and Tecumseh Dance Workshop. We also threw in a couple of special events: The Cabin Fever Film Festival, and our eco fashion show, Junk to Funk! And, don’t forget to take in our Black Box Summer Series, featuring Michigan musicians on the fourth Thursday of June, July, and August.Well over 10,000 people walked through our doors this season and we thank you! Whether you were sharing your talents onstage, or watching from the theater seats, your presence was greatly appreciated. Everyone on staff at the theater would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to our volunteer corps of ushers. This wonderful group of people donates their time to make your experience at the theater as enjoyable as possible. The TCAwould also like to thank The Friends of the Tecumseh Center for the Arts; this group of individuals is dedicated to insuring the continued success of the Tecumseh Center for the Arts. And, finally, thank you to the organizations, businesses, and individuals that give financially to the Tecumseh Center for the Arts, we would not be here without your support! The Tecumseh Center for the Arts is honored to share the performing arts with our community, and we look forward to doing so for many years to come.Shelley LimDirector of Cultural and Leisure Services, City of Tecumseh
