A.J. Smith Rec Center to host Rock My Wedding bridal expo

Area brides and grooms will find information and fun at the Rock My Wedding bridal expo and exchange on Sunday, Jan. 5, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the A.J. Smith Recreation Center in Tecumseh. “We are vendors promoting vendors,” said Faythe Emens, one of the sponsors of the event.In addition to the 44 vendors from southeast Michigan and northwest Ohio to cover every wedding need, there will also be a bride-to-bride sale with gently used and new wedding items, including wedding gowns. There is so much to be seen that Rock My Wedding will take over both gymnasiums at the A.J. Smith Recreation Center.“We are actually filling both gyms with vendors,” Emens said. “We’ve done an even split with the vendors.”Samples of food, cake and a chocolate fountain give couples a chance to decide what they want to serve guests on their wedding day. When the grooms are finished, they can find peace and quiet close by.“We’re doing the first ever man cave for the grooms,” said Emens. There will be football on television, drinks and food to soothe the tired grooms.Those with gently used or new bridal merchandise for the bride-to-bride exchange need to contact Rock My Wedding before the bridal show to make sure all items are appropriate for the sale. Gown drop-off has a $5 charge, and all the clothing can be tried on in the changing area.During the expo, dresses will be modeled. “We have DJs playing music,” Emens said.All registered brides are eligible to win cash prizes totaling $1,500 to be used with any of the expo’s wedding professionals.
