Allis M. Phillips
Allis M. Phillips, age 89 of Tecumseh, passed away Monday, July 14, 2014. She was born April 2, 1925 in Tecumseh, the daughter of Claude and Pauline (Stevens) McAtee. She married Alvah H. Phillips on August 24, 1951. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1985.Allis was a lifetime member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Tecumseh. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for RS Moore & Sons and Tecumseh Plywood. Allis enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She took great pride in caring for her yard and especially loved her African violets. She loved to spend time with her family and they will miss her greatly.Allis is survived by her daughters Andrea (James) Korsnack of Toledo, Ohio and Alison (Eric) Jackson of Erie, Pa.; three grandchildren David Korsnack, Danielle Jackson, and Christopher Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Evelyn Hillman.Visitation will be Thursday, July 17, from 12 – 2 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tom Hawkins, officiating. Interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh. Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Toledo Foundation, Department of Neurology (utfoundation.org).
