ANGEL LUIS MILLET, SR.

Angel Luis Millet, Sr, 82, of Adrian, passed away March 29, 2008. Angel was born June 30, 1925 in Camuy, Puerto Rico, the son of Valentin and Hermenia (Quintana) Millet.  On July 29, 1950,  he married Lucille Luck in Monro and she survives.  
From 1943 to 1945, Angel served his country in the United States Army in the Infantry Coast Artillery Battalion as an army engineer in Okinawa where he obtained the rank of Corporal. In 1947, he came to Adrian to attend flight training school where he received his private pilot's license.

He was employed for 19 years at Stubnitz  & Greene and then started his own business, Caton Hill Garage, retiring in 1994 after 28 years.

He enjoyed serving the community in various ways,  22 years at WLEN as a Spanish radio disc jockey, a court Spanish translator for the Lenawee County Court syste and was active on many committees that served the Hispanic community.  He also was a member of the First Church of the Brethren.

Besides his wife, Lucille, Angel is survived by his children, Allen (Deb) Hatt of Jasper, Angel Millet, Jr. of Monroe, Deb (Sid) Barrow of Adrian, Cheryl Millet of Federal Way, WA, Marlene Millet of Adria and Kevin Millet of Cape Cod, MA; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Maria Mercedes Millet.
Funeral services were held  Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, with Pastor David Morton officiating.  Burial was  in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh with Military Honors conducted by the Adrian VFW Post 1584 Annis Fint.
