Ann Patricia (Peacock) Lemanski

Ann Patricia (Peacock) Lemanski, age 83 of Tecumseh, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 after a brief illness. Ann was born February 13, 1930 in Mt. Vernon, New York, one of four children for James and Helen (Costello) Peacock. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jean and brother Richard. Virginia (Peacock) Smith survives. On June 13, 1953 Ann married Paul A. Lemanski in Battle Creek, Mich. Six of their seven children survive: Mary (Steve) Pike of Tecumseh, Jean (Scott) Frank of Shaker Heights Ohio, Paul (Geralyn) Lemanski of Ypsilanti, son-in-law, Mike Robson of Howell, Diane (Rick) Blackmar of Holland, Rita (Steve) Yawn of Gainesville Fla., and Sally (Keith) Menne of Grand Ledge. Husband Paul and daughter Barbara Robson preceded Ann in death.Ann was the devoted grandmother of eighteen grandchildren: Joe, Austin, Helen, Mitch, Anastasia, Peter, Tim, Jeff, Mark, Matthew, Danielle, Rita, Adam, Clayton, Sam, Paul, Hanna and Luke, and two great-grandchildren, Dominic and Xiomi.Ann was a homemaker with a generous spirit and willingness to help others. She thoroughly enjoyed her weekly water aerobics classes and the friends she made over the years.Ann had been an active member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church since 1956, where she was a catechist, contributed to funeral meals, and participated in many religious and social activities. She was a lifelong member of the Council of Catholic Women.Visitation was at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church on Sunday, Feb. 17 from 2–5 p.m. and 6:30-8 p.m, with recitation of the rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Visitation was also from 11 a.m until the time of services. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, Feb. 18, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at 12 p.m. Rite of Committal followed in Brookside Cemetery.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Handler Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
