Annabelle Bock

Annabelle Bock passed away September 15, 2018 at the age of 93. Annabelle was born in Monroe, Mich., in 1925 to Stanley Jacob and Grace Laverne (Jameson) Newcomer. She married Franklin (Bud) Harold Bock in 1947, and they lived in Monroe until moving to Tecumseh, Mich., in 1966.

Annabelle graduated from Monroe High School and Northwestern University. She earned a master’s degree in education from Siena Heights University and Eastern Michigan University. Annabelle taught fifth grade in Tecumseh for many years and was a member of Tecumseh United Methodist Church.

Annabelle loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid golfer, a Fred Couples fan, and a loyal member of the George Strait fan club. Annabelle was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Harold Bock, and brothers, Stanley (Buddy) Newcomer and William Newcomer.

She is survived by her children, Betsey Bock (Peter Gyengo), Barbara (James) Caralis, and Frank (Gloria) Bock; her grandchildren, Peter (Kendra) Caralis, Joseph (Gena) Gyengo, Michael (Sybil) Gyengo, Dena (Carlos) Costa, Katherine (Stephen) Selinsky, Kaitlynn Bock (Tim Miller), and David Bock; and her great-grandchildren, James, Lucas, Harper, Annabelle, Jacqueline, Olive, Marianne, and William.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Troy at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23.

Memorial donations can be made to Tecumseh United Methodist Church or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangments by A.J. Desmond & Sons, 248-362-2500.
