Anthony A. Amrhein

Anthony A. Amrhein, age 77 of Tecumseh, formerly of Livonia, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Tecumseh Place II under the loving care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born on October 30, 1936 in Aschaffenburg, Germany to Wilhelm and Magdalena (Pfaff) Amrhein. On July 17, 1959 he was united in marriage to Ilse S. Guenther from Sindelfingen, Germany.Anthony is survived by his wife, Ilse; two daughters Dori (Dan) Alexander Tjarks and Kathy (Mike) Seal; three grandsons, one step-granddaughter and four great grandchildren.After serving four and one half years in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, Anthony worked for 10 years at Jervis B. Webb and 25 years for Ford Motor Company in Saline until retiring in 1996. Anthony enjoyed classical music and traveling in Europe. He was a founding member of the Tecumseh Area Soccer Club and was a member of the Bits and Pieces R/C Flying Club of Adrian and the R/C Fliers of Venice, Fla.A memorial mass to celebrate Anthony’s life will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Daniel Wheeler as celebrant. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service and friends are invited to a luncheon at the Parish Hall that will follow mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.handlerfuneralhomes.com.
