Arthur Jack Hill

Arthur Jack Hill, age 77, of Tecumseh passed away on May 18, 2015, with his loving family by his side at Hospice of Lenawee. Jack was born on September 7, 1937, in Clinton Township, Mich., to Arthur L. and Lucile K. (Jedele) Hill. On September 22, 1956, he married Judy Fairbanks at the Methodist Church in Tecumseh and they shared 58 loving years together. Jack graduated from Clinton High School and Eastern Michigan University with a degree in business. He served his country for eight years in the Naval Reserve. Jack retired from Ford Motor Company in Saline after 25 years as a supervisor. He was a member of the Britton Congregational Church, 32 Degree Mason and life member of the Masonic Lodge No. 175 of Clinton, life member of the NRA, member of the Brooklyn Sportsman Club, Lenawee Conservation League, and Level II NSCA shooting Instructor. Jack taught many girls, boys, men and women shooting sports including an Olympian and junior Olympians. His love of shotguns, bird dogs, family and friends led him from the prairies of South Dakota to the duck marshes of Ontario. Jack and his family built a cottage in Grayling 40 years ago and spent many years with family and friends there.Jack is survived by his wife, Judy, children, Scott (Cindy) Hill of Tecumseh and Laurie (Jeff) Osterhout of Britton, grandchildren, Emmy Hill, Jenny Hill, Jessie Osterhout and fiancé Jack Koch, sister, Betty (Dan) Gilleylen of Missouri, nephew Gary (Katie) Fairbanks of Tecumseh, and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Joanne Henrich.Visitation for Jack will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Tecumseh from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be May 22, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the church with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Private burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh. Memorial contributions in honor of Jack may be made to, Britton Congregational Church, Hospice of Lenawee, Lenawee Conservation Club for the Youth Shotgun Sports Fund.
