Ban assault rifles

To the Editor,Representative Tim Walberg:I’m writing to ask you to support legislation to ban assault weapons. No private citizen needs an assault weapon.Christmas reminds us that Jesus came to show us the way, to be an example of how to live. I can’t picture Jesus with an assault weapon, can you? Jesus didn’t come to earth with weapons to rid the world of evil. He came to transform through love, service, and sacrifice.Banning assault weapons, I realize, is only part of the solution to ending the violence that is so pervasive in our society. It is a step, though, that can easily be accomplished if people like you will support it. I hope you will.Joan E. MillerTecumseh
