Barbara Ann Baugh

Barbara Ann Baugh, age 83, passed away on March 20, 2017 at Lenawee Medical Care Facility under the care of Hospice with family by her side. She was born to the late John and Margaret (Dove) Starkey on June 8, 1933 in Tecumseh, Mich. She was united in marriage on August 18, 1951 to John E. Baugh, and they shared 34 years together before his death in 1985.

Barbara was a lifelong resident of Tecumseh, where she along with her husband Elwood owned and operated E & B Heating & Cooling for over 30 years. After Elwood’s death, she owned and operated her own donut shop in Tecumseh and then went to work for Busch’s also in Tecumseh as a deli clerk until her retirement in 2000.  Barbara was a devoted Tigers fan. She was a loving person who lived to help others.

Barbara is survived by her children, Kathy Hebert, Diana (Charles Noland) Mattis and John (Janet) Baugh all of Tecumseh; her brother, Gary (Olga) Starkey of Newport, Tenn.; her sisters, Shirley Putnam of Adrian and Carol Watson of Tecumseh; grandchildren, Douglas, Robert, Jamie, Jason, Brian, Luke and Anna; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, Dennis John, and her brother, William Starkey.

Visitation for Barbara was held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial to follow at Brookside cemetery.
