Barbara Brown

Barbara Brown, 87, a resident of Whitefish, Mont., for 25 years, died on July 15, 2015, at The Springs at Whitefish. She had been in declining health for the past year.Barbara was born January 9, 1928, in South Whitley, Ind. to Victor and Florence Humble. She moved with her parents to Tecumseh, Mich. She graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1946. While in high school she met the love of her life, Jack Brown. They married on November 9, 1946.Barbara and Jack moved to Teton Village, Wyo. in 1972. The couple moved to Whitefish in 1990. Barbara embraced every community she lived in to the fullest. In Wyoming, she was involved in the art community and getting to know many of the longtime ranchers of Jackson Hole. While in Whitefish she was involved in the Whitefish Theater Company, helping in whatever way she could. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. Barbara was a Whitefish Chamber Ambassador. She really loved Winter Carnival and attended as many of the functions as she could. Barbara was a member of Holy Nativity Episcopal Church.Barbara spent her life making a wonderful home and caring for her family and continued as the family grew to grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, knitting, fashion modeling, skiing, camping and travel.Barbara’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and being their “biggest fan” in the various activities in which they were involved.Barbara is survived by her brother Franklin Humble and wife Joan of Michigan, her daughter Cathy Juno and husband Rod, of Whitefish; son Marc Brown and wife Betsy, of Tecumseh; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Holly Nash and husband Ron and children Kai and Ethan, Marc Blanden and wife Darcie and children Eleanor and Jack, Amy Brown, Christen Brown, Joanna Brown and Diana Brown. Jack preceded her in death in 2003.There will be no visitation or services. The family will gather together to memorialize their beloved parents and grandparents at a future date.Memorials are suggested to Whitefish Winter Carnival P.O.
