Barry G. Hall

Barry G. Hall, age 69, of Raisin Twp., passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2014, at Regency Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio, with his family by his side, after a two-month illness.He was born April 9, 1945, in Tecumseh to Garth and Jean (Downing) Hall. On May 26, 1988, he married Sharon Bitley, and she survives. Barry served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1967. He had been employed by the City of Adrian as Foreman of the Utilities Department until his retirement in 2006. After his retirement, Barry worked for Raisin Township as the groundskeeper at Mitchell Park for five years and at Brady’s Sand and Gravel until he was hospitalized in July 2014.In addition to his wife, he is survived by step-son, John Bitley of Henderson, Nev.; three step-daughters: Brenda (Jeff) Steltzriede of Canton, Crystal (Tim) Holloway of Blissfield, and Melissa Gilbert of Tecumseh; brother, Marc Hall of Palouse, Wash.; two sisters: Karen (Gene) Holthofer of Green Valley, Ariz., and Kathy (Dean) Ledesma Hebb, also of Green Valley; 11 step-grandchildren; and three step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.Family and friends will remember Barry as a hard-working, generous and outgoing man with a wide variety of hobbies and interests and a great sense of humor. He loved to tinker with all things mechanical and automotive and to solve world problems over morning coffee at McDonalds with a circle of close friends. He will be especially missed by his dog, Peanut.At Barry’s request, cremation has taken place, and there will be no public visitation. Private graveside military services and burial of cremains will take place at Brookside Cemetery later this fall. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com.
