BD girls first in small school division at Hudson

Britton Deerfield’s varsity girls cross country team placed first in the small school division of Hudson’s Booster Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 5.Placing for the Patriots were Marisa Kimerer (11th, 21:50), Morgan Tilley (13th, 22:13), Larissa Buckingham (14th, 22:28), Carrie Weilfaert (32nd, 23:25), Jessie Langmeyer (33rd, 24:00), Megan Wielfaert (47th, 25:50), Alysha Pirolli (65, 29:45).The Patriots’ boys placed fourth. Placing for the boys were Dakota Heiden (16th, 18:55), Hayden Ross (18th, 18:59), Gene Dudek (26th, 19:28), Ron Gerten (36th, 19:54), Colton LaGore (60th, 21:06), Garrett Woerner (67th, 21:46), and Lucas Wielfaert (75th, 22:37).Sand Creek won the boys division race.“I am very pleased with how both teams have been racing,” said BD coach Jay Yockey. “Both teams have really been stepping up to the challenge and placing well individually and as a team. It definitely is exciting to watch the girls win a meet of this caliber and size, to be apart of champions of this race speaks volumes of their dedication. I was thrilled to see where the boys ended up placing. Being that they are a first year team, and no one having more than a year of experience, and to place this high is amazing.”In its previous meet at Madsison’s Invitational BDs girls placed first while the boys were second.Leading BD’s girls were Kimerer (2nd, 21:43), Buckingham (5th, 22:18), Tilley (8th, 23:07), Carrie Wielfaert (10th, 23:35), Langmeyer (12th, 23:44), Megan Wielfaert (17th, 24:59), Emma Loesch (22nd, 26:29) and Jaiden Crots (23rd, 28:07).Placing for the boys were BD’s Heiden (4th, 19:04), Ross (7th, 19:22), Dudek (11th, 19:55), Gerten (14th, 20:21), LaGore (17th, 21:21), Woerner (25th, 23:52), Wielfaert (27th, 24:20) and Christian Folau (38th, 28:15).
