Betty Jo Darish

Betty Jo Darish, age, 66, of Tecumseh died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013 at University Hospitals, Ann Arbor. She was born February 28, 1947 in Adrian to Carlton and Bertha (Bruchert) Neff. On September 6, 1968 she married Dave Darish at St. Peter Catholic Church in Blissfield and he survives. Betty graduated in 1965 from Deerfield High School. Betty had worked at Korner Café for many years and retired from Carol’s Hallmark, in Tecumseh after 17 years. Betty was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching old movies and doing crossword puzzles. Betty was a great cook and loved making dishes with wild game especially venison.In addition to her husband, Dave, she is survived by one brother, Carl (Carol) Drefke of Three Rivers, Mich.; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Kay Darish of Tecumseh; three nephews and one niece and her beloved lab, Stoker. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Phillip Drefke.A Funeral liturgy for Betty will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Tecumseh with Fr. Daniel Wheeler as celebrant. Burial will be in Lenawee County Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh. Visitation was held on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. and Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh. Visitation will also be held on Monday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church. A prayer service with Fr. Dan Wheeler presiding with the family will be held at 10:45 followed by the funeral liturgy at 11 a.m. St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
