Brittany Elizabeth Ames

Brittany Elizabeth Ames, age 22, of Tecumseh died unexpectedly Monday, Aug. 18, 2014 as a result of an automobile accident. She was born February 29, 1992 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Stanley and Bridget (Marvin) Ames. Brittany graduated from Tecumseh High School in 2011 where she was a member of the Golf Team. She went on to continue her education at Hillsdale College and was studying to become a CPA. While at Hillsdale College, she was a student employee at the college library and was active in the campus Young Republicans and Catholic Society. Brittany was an active member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She was working as an intern at Tenneco in Monroe for the past three summers. Brittany loved her family and friends dearly and enjoyed the moments spent with them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.Brittany is survived by her parents Stan and Bridget; brother Broderick Ames; grandparents Philip and Ellen Marvin of Tecumseh and Richard and Sandra Ames of Hudson; uncles Eric Ames of Hudson, Philip Marvin, II of Hillsdale and Pat (Dawn) Marvin of Brooklyn; aunts Janaee (David) Brown of Zephyrhills, FL, Alisa (Alex) Fernandez of Pensacola, FL and Liz (John) Phelan of Tecumseh; cousins Sarah Hussey, Emily Brown, Keegan and Annalyse Ames, Gavriel Fernandez, Emily and Cormac Phelan, Rory and Hartley Marvin. Her cousin Amanda Brown preceded her in death.Visitation will be at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church on Thursday, August 21 from 5 – 8 p.m., Friday, August 22 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. with a vigil at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, August 23 from 10 – 10:45 a.m. The funeral mass will be at St. Elizabeth’s on Saturday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Daniel Wheeler as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus Council #9937 Scholarship Fund or the Girls State Scholarship Fund, c/o Tecumseh High School.
