Carl D. Kennel
Carl David Kennel, 90, of Tecumseh, passed away Feb. 21, 2013. He was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Kenton, Ohio, the son of Ernest and Eva Kennel. On September 2, 1944, he married Patricia Osburn.Carl served in the Navy during World War II. He completed his tool and die apprenticeship with Ford Motor Company and most of his working years were spent at Tecumseh Products. Carl was a talented woodworker and carver. He enjoyed playing cards as well as traveling extensively with his family. He could be described as extremely resourceful and thrifty, a man who never sat still.He is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Gordon) Snyder of Adrian and Susan (James) Switzenberg of Stockbridge and his son, Carl David, Jr. (Julie) of Brighton. His grandchildren are Jill Foreman, Edward Snyder, James, Michael, Daniel, Benjamin and Andrew Switzenberg. He has 17 great grandchildren. Carl is also survived by his sister Helen Fairburn of Lima, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia and his sister, Lillian Kritzler of Kenton, Ohio.A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. March 16, 2013, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh.A luncheon following the service will be held at Country House Restaurant.Condolences to the family may be made online at www.pursefuneralhome.com.
