Charges former Raisin Township police chief for not doing his job

To the Editor,Not sorry a bit!So glad to hear Scott Lambka is leaving! I found Scott Lambka extremely hot tempered, abusive and I think unqualified for his position. We are supposed to be a nation of laws that include everyone. A lot of our laws are from old English laws. Even the word cop is from constable on patrol.I bought a farm at auction a few years back and almost immediately had to go to the hospital for an extended stay. When I returned I saw I’d been a victim of a huge theft. A couple that had befriended me before my hospitalization said they wanted to be my emergency contact. They had cards printed up to that effect. They also wanted me to change my will and leave them everything. That, obviously, I did not do. Upon my release from the hospital, I drove by their house and there was my new trailer in their yard still loaded with my belongings. I contacted Scott Lambka, chief of Raisin Township Police, and told him I was robbed of $32,000 worth of miscellaneous items including my new trailer and a truck. He said, “Oh we can’t trace trailers.” I told him he didn’t have to; it was sitting over on Van Buren Street to go take a look. He said he couldn’t do that. I told him to get a search warrant. He said he couldn’t get a search warrant. I then went to the Lenawee County Courthouse and was told that no one had even asked for a search warrant for the property on N. Van Buren Street. He never even tried. I contacted one of the thieves and told him that ex-cons were not permitted to have guns. Within a few weeks, he brought all my guns back. I then told him he was still going to jail for auto theft. While I was hospitalized, he had given the Secretary of State’s office a phony bill of sale and they gave him a new title for my truck. I still have the original. Approximately six months later he brought back my truck, the revised title and the keys. Prior to my hospitalization, the thief showed me an AK47 and two 12-gauge shotguns that he owned. I reported this and no one cared. This man hasn’t worked in 25 years and is still on the loose in Tecumseh. When I bought the farm, I wanted to shop locally for my insurance and went downtown Tecumseh and did just that. When I turned in my claim for my stolen items, I was told they could not help me and that I would have to go to the Adrian office. Someone from that office did go to Scott Lambka who told him there was no proof I ever owned any of the items that I had reported stolen. Some things I had owned for over 40 years. Other things I got with the farm. So, keep your receipts, because in 40 years you may need them. Be careful out there. You may not have the insurance or police protection you think you have.Pat AmleeRaisin Township
