Charles C. Cox

Charles C. Cox, Jr., age 88, lifelong resident of North Adams, passed away, February 11, 2014, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility. He was born, April 26, 1925, in North Adams, Mich., the son of Charles Sr. and Hazel (Reynolds) Cox. On October 28, 1950, he married Emily Keck in Angola, Ind. She preceded him in death on October 31, 2006. Charles worked for several years as a machinist at the Tecumseh Products Co. He also farmed for many years. Charles was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Lakes. He enjoyed spending time at the Addison Senior Center.He is survived by his children; Charles “Mike” (Connie) Cox, Beth Bufford, Douglas (Freda) Cox, Brenda (Kevin) Maxson and Craig (Jennifer) Cox, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one brother, Bert Cox. In addition to his wife Emily, he was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Dawn Cox, three brothers, Guy, Robert and Bud Cox.Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy (M-52) Adrian, Mich. Burial will follow in East Hill Cemetery, Osseo, Mich.Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, Mich. Condolences may be offered to the family online at:
