Charles E. “Bud” Gorton
Charles E. “Bud” Gorton of Chelsea, Mich., formerly of Britton, Saline, and Jamestown, age 84, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014, at Chelsea Retirement Community. He was born July 8, 1930, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Charles E. & Alice Jane (Hancock) Gorton. Bud worked at Citizen’s Bank in Saline (now Key Bank). He was a member of the Macon United Methodist Church. On February 13, 1954, he married Janet Crittenden at Macon Methodist Church, and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Daniel (Betty) Gorton of Holland, Mich.; a daughter, Cathy Rafferty of Chelsea; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, William (Gerry) Gorton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson.No services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Macon United Methodist Church, UMRC Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
