CHS girls third, boys fourth at Manchester

CLINTON — Clinton’s varsity girls track team placed third at the Manchester Metrics on Friday, May 13, while the boys placed fourth overall.

No times or distances were submitted for the girls.

Times and distances listed for the Redskins’ varsity boys had Gene Dudek placing second in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:53.

Clinton’s 400-meter relay team placed second in 44.3 as did its 800-meter relay team in 1:32.1. Both relays consisted of Huntter Trubiano, Kenny DeShano, Noah Poore and Mathew Sexton.

Noah Poore placed first in the long jump with a distance of 19’7”.

Clinton’s varsity track teams traveled to Sand Creek on Tuesday, May 10 and the boys won 74-63 while the girls lost 69-68.

The boys improved to 5-2 with the victory.

Sexton placed first in three events, the 100- (11.2) and 200-meter (22.8) and high jump (5-6),

Blake Rogers placed first in the 400-meter with a time of 55.2.

Lucas Crumb placed first in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.7 and 300-meter hurdles in 43.9.

Kenny DeShano finished first in the shot put with a throw of 43’-3” while Poore placed first in the long jump with a leap of 20-4.

The Redskins’ 800-meter relay team of Poore, DeShano, Trubiano and Sexton placed first with a time of 1:35.7 while the 400-meter relay team of Trubiano, DeShano, Trevor Underwood and Poore placed first in 45.6.

For Clinton’s girls, Payton VanStaveren (100, 200) and Arielle Hitch (hurdles) each recorded to individual victories [No times listed].

Jessica Burt placed first in the long jump (14’-10”).

The Redskins are now preparing for the MHSAA regional at Erie Mason High School on Friday, May 20.
