Clinton board sets schedule for supt. candidate interviews

CLINTON — The Clinton Community Schools Board of Education held a special meeting on March 12 regarding the superintendent search. Candidates who made it to the interview process included Clinton Athletic Director Kevin Beazley; Andrew Rogers, High School Principal for Leslie Public Schools; Sean McNatt, Superintendent of Breckenridge Community Schools; and Jonathan Good, High School Principal for Freeland School District.At its February 26 meeting, the board had voted to extend the deadline for superintendent applications to March 8. Nine additional candidates applied and were voted on by board members. Three applicants received four or more votes for further consideration.The selected applicants were added to the list of five candidates selected from the first pool. The combined pool of eight applicants was reviewed with the intention of reducing the number of interview candidates to six or less. Of the eight applicants, there were five who received four or more votes from the board members.Dick Dunham, the Michigan Association of School Boards’ Superintendent Search Consultant called to notify each of the five candidates. He confirmed interest with four of the candidates and scheduled interviews. The fifth candidate declined the interview.Interviews will be held in the library at Clinton High School on Tuesday, March 19 and Wednesday, March 20. Beazley will interview at 6 p.m. on March 19 and the McNatt interview is at 7:30 p.m. The interview with Good is scheduled for 6 p.m. on March 20, followed by Rogers at 7:30 p.m.
