Clinton boys place second, win share of TCC title

Clinton’s varsity boys track team hosted the Tri-County Conference meet on Wednesday May 22, and earned a strong second place finish to guarantee a share of the TCC overall championship, its first since 1984. First place finishers included Clinton’s 3200-meter relay team of Ryan Rogers, Justin Swisher, Jimmy Phillips and Dominic Muessig. Muessig also placed first in the 800- and 1600-meter runs while Rogers placed first in the 3200-meter run. Clinton’s 1600-meter relay team (Ryan Piatt, Tom Vinton, Mathew Sexton, Muessig) also placed first. Second place finishers for Clinton included Ryan Piatt (high jump), the 800-meter relay team (Sexton, Noah Poore, Piatt, Vinton), Rogers (1600m, 800m), and Justin Swisher (3200m). Other athletes who placed and gained points for Clinton were Nate Kaszuba (discus), Moritz Jarchow (long jump), Mathew Sexton (100m, 200m), Phillips (800m), Swisher (1600m), the 400-meter relay team (Mike Mistopoulos, Noah Poore, Jacob Kurowicki, Vinton), Piatt (400m) and Vinton (200m). Clinton accumulated 119 points, second to Summerfield’s 127. Clinton ended the season with a perfect 7-0 record in TCC dual meets.
