Clinton boys track team third at state meet, wins two state championships
Two state championship victories by Clinton’s varsity boys track team highlighted the Redskins’ third place finish in the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s Division 3 meet at Comstock Park on Saturday, May 30.Clinton’s 400-meter relay team of Zech Johnston, Tyler Underwood, Noah Poore and Mathew Sexton placed first with a time of 44.51.Tyler Underwood claimed an individual state championship for the Redskins by winning the 200-meter in a school record time of 22.36.The Redskins’ 800-meter relay team of Sexton, Ken DeShano, Poore and Underwood claimed second place while setting another school record with a time of 1:30.98.Huntter Trubiano earned all-state honors with a seventh place finish in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 41.40.Clinton finished the season 6-1 and placed second in the Tri-County Conference.
