According to the superintendent’s office, the evaluation was never completed and the item was removed from Monday’s board meeting agenda. In a phone interview on Wednesday morning, McNatt said, “I’m looking for other professional and career opportunities.” He declined to comment on a report that a changeover on the board may have led to his resignation. When Clinton High School Principal Kevin Beasley was asked on Tuesday by the Herald if he planned to apply for the superintendent position, he said he had made no decision at this time.“We don’t know the next step,” Beasley said. “This district isn’t just one person. We are a good team.”Board President Jeff Clark was contacted by the Herald about McNatt’s resignation, and asked how much time was left on McNatt’s contract, whether the district would be paying McNatt the rest of his contracted salary, as well as requesting a copy of last year’s review and the notes made in this year’s review process. Clark responded on Wednesday that he wishes to seek legal counsel before making a comment. He did say the schools will proceed under the leadership of Wahl and will move forward with a succession plan.
