Clinton ends season with one point, 37-36, loss to Manchester

Manchester ended Clinton’s season with a one point, 37-36, Division 6 pre-district victory on Friday, Oct. 26.Clinton (9-1) defeated the Flying Dutchmen 32-14 to open the season and went on an undefeated nine game winning streak before colliding into Manchester a second time. The last time the Redskins advanced to the playoffs, in 2009, they defeated Adrian-Madison 14-12 but lost 11-0 to Manchester to end the post-season run. In the two rival’s last 10 contests, Clinton has lost 8-of-10 times.Manchester tied the game in the fourth quarter on a nine-yard pass and took a one-point lead with the Point After Touchdown kick sailing through the uprights. Clinton was unable to score again and finished the season.Scoring for the Redskins were Dylan Spurlock with touchdown receptions of five and six yards, Mathew Sexton with a 37 yard reception and 35 yard run, Collin Poore with a 21-yard run and Moritz Jarchow with a 20 yard field goal and three extra point kicks. TJ Baker led Clinton’s rushing attack with 96 yards on 22 carries. Collin Poore added 45 yards on 15 carries.
