Clinton hosts inaugural Duane Pelz Track Invitational

The first annual Duane Pelz Track Invitational was at Clinton on Friday, April 17, and the Redskins’ boys placed third with 115 points while the girls placed fifth with 49 points.Summerfield won the boys event with 146 points. The boys team had six first place finishes including Brady Fowler (1,600-meter, 5:00, 3,200-meter, 11:07), Noah Poore (long jump, 19’11”, 100-meter, 11.8), 800-meter relay (Poore, Jared Sackett, Tyler Underwood, Hunter Trubiano, 1:35), and Trubiano (300-meter hurdles, 44.6).Second places for Clinton came from its 400-meter relay team (Sackett, Underwood, Nick Rolland, Poore, 44.6) and Kenny DeShano 200-meter, 24.1). Third place finishes went to DeShano (400-meter, 54.2) and Underwood and Trubiano (high jump, 5’6”).Clinton competed at Madison on Tuesday, April 14, in a Tri-County Conference tri-meet against Britton-Deerfield and Adrian-Madison. Clinton lost 98-38 to Madison but defeated Britton Deerfield 98-38. First place performances came from Clinton’s Trubiano (110-high hurdles, 17.7, 300 hurdles, 45.2), Mathew Sexton (100-meter dash, 11.2), Brady Fowler (3200-meter run, 10:53), and the 400-meter relay team (Jared Sackett, Tyler Underwood, Poore, Sexton, 44.6). Personal bests were recorded by Clinton’s Poore (long jump, 20’6”), Zach Johnston (pole vault, 9’0”) and Riley Mclaughlin (shot put, 39’4”).
