Connie Sue Burgess

Connie Sue Burgess, age 68, from Tecumseh passed away on May 15, 2015, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital surrounded by her family. Connie was born on June 18, 1946, in Tecumseh, Mich., to John and Evalena (Hebb) Harrison. She married William Burgess in 2003 at the Evangelical Friends Church in Tecumseh.She was a member of the Tecumseh Church of Nazarene and she loved her church, bible study group and cherished her talks with Rev. Gary Miller. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Connie worked for Gleaner Life Insurance for many years and retired in 2003. She also enjoyed long walks with her black lab Dawn, whom she loved dearly, liked making flower arrangements, spending time up north with her family and she was a huge U of M football fan. But she truly loved her time spent with family and friends.Connie is survived by her son, Scott Michling (Rosalie Scerri), sisters, Deborah (Darryl) Wesener, Shelia (Phil) Carter, brother, Randy (Renee) Harrison, grandson, Devon Michling, great-granddaughter, Casey and a sister-in-law, Carol Harrison and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, parents, her son, Bradley Michling, brother, Dennis Harrison and a nephew, Michael Harrison.Visitation for Connie was held at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gary Miller officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Clinton.
