Darel Michael Stevens

Darel Michael Stevens, age 70, of Clinton, passed away on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017 surrounded by his family at his home. He was born February 1, 1947 in Plymouth, Mich., a son of the late Harold Wesley and Stella Antine Pedersen Stevens. In 1982 Darel married Kathleen Fegan and they shared 35 years together. Darel was an accomplished musician and at the age of seven he learned to play the piano and by 16 was playing in bands and teaching around the Plymouth area. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Clinton for over 20 years where he played the organ. Darel worked as a precision machinist for over 30 years and made his start at Sydley Diamond Tool and finished his career with Federal Mogul. In later years he was a self-employed window washer.

Along with his wife he is survived by his children, Jennifer Stevens of Sykesville, Md., Adam and Colin Stevens both of Clinton; one sister, Karen (Otto) Bufe of Grand Marais, Mich.; three grandchildren, Lauren, Conni and Riley and two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Wyatt and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Jared and Kim Stevens.

A Celebration of Life for Darel will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church with Pastor Susie Shaefer officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Glio- blastoma Foundation.
