David John Colson

David John Colson, age 45 of Tecumseh, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 6, 2014 with his loving family by his side. He was born April 2, 1969 in Tecumseh, Mich., the son of James Colson and Dolores (Peterson) Colson.David was a 1995 graduate of the Milton C. Porter Center and also worked for Goodwill in Adrian for five years. David loved people and never met a stranger. He participated in Special Olympics and won many medals for swimming. He also enjoyed golfing, biking and shooting pool. David had a great sense of humor and loved music. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family. David was a special man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.David is survived by his father, James Colson of Tecumseh; brother Marc J. Colson of Jackson and Thomas (Jenni) Colson of Adrian; his nephews Ken Colson; Luke Colson; and Quin Colson; nieces Maggie and Emily Colson. He was preceded in death by his mother, his paternal grandparents Homer and Lela Colson and maternal grandparents Ralph and Evelyn Peterson.Funeral services will be Friday, May 9, at 1 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 108 Brown Street in Tecumseh, with Pastor Gordon Peterson officiating. Visitation for David will take place at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
