Delmas D. Dotson
Delmas D. Dotson, age 71, of Tecumseh, passed away, Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the University of Michigan Hospital. Delmas was born July 12, 1942 in Ivyton, Ky., the son of Alfred and Cyna (Stanley) Dotson. He was a graduate of Tecumseh High School.
Del married his soul mate, Linda Dotson, August 19, 1983. They have enjoyed 30 blissfull yeas of marriage. In 2002 he retired from Ford Motor Company after 39 years of service. Del loved the Lord with all his heart and lived every day striving to be like his savior Jesus Christ since becoming a Christian in 1971. He was a kind, compassionate and jovial man with a zest for life that never dwindled even as his health declined. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, teaching others about Jesus and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
In recent years, his dog, Jelly, brought tremendous joy to his life. Del will be greatly missed by friends and family alike.
For the past year and a half Del has had his own Bible study program on 103.9 WLEN of Adrian. His last message was broadcast Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 8:30 a.m.
Del is survived by his wife, Linda; siblings, Dotty (Roger) Palmer, Randy Dotson, Russ Dotson, Hilda Winzeler, Rose (Jamel) Dotson; children, Dan Dotson, Mike (Sharon) Dotson, Rodney Dotson, Sherri (Dennis) Osworth, Craig Coudron and Robert Coudron; grandchildren, Steven, Katherine, Jacob, Jeffrey, Mystique, Natasha, Brandi, Mallorie, Brittley, Pamela, Brooke and Ronald and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Cyna, and father, Alfred.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Pastor Daniel Schultz officiating. Burial followed in Ridgeway Cemetery, Ridgeway, Mich.
Visitation was from 2-8 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at the funeral home.
Memorials in honor of Del may be made to the Daily Bread or Fishes and Loaves Pantry, both in Adrian.
