Dennis L. Simpson

Dennis L. Simpson, age 74, passed away suddenly on July 31, 2016 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born on September 15, 1941 in Adrian, Mich., the son of the late Ivan G. and Ardis I. (Mehan) Simpson. On May 3, 1963 he married his sweetheart, Delores Kay Emmons in Lyons, Ohio and they shared 53 years together.

Dennis attended Clinton United Church of Christ. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed shooting sporting clays along with woodworking and playing Sudoku. He was very proud of the tradition that he started of buying his grandchildren a fishing pole before they were born. Dennis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a great friend to many, as he never met a stranger. He adored his time with family especially his grandchildren.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Delores; his children, Matthew J. (Lisa) Simpson of Tecumseh, Mich., and Monica M. (Christopher) Bauer of Crestwood, Ky.; grandchildren, Samantha, Nathan and Cynthia Bauer, Kaitlyn and Benjamin Simpson; and his sister, Dixie Jeffries of Delta, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and her husband, Donna (Robert) Frantz.

Memorial visitation for Dennis will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 6, at Clinton United Church of Christ at 11 a.m. with Pastor Diane White officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

In accordance to his wishes, cremation has taken place.
