Don E. Hannah

Don E. Hannah, age 80 of Tecumseh, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Herrick Manor, Tecumseh. He was born on July 4, 1932, in Macon, Mich., the son of Jack and Beulah (Garber) Hannah. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Kossey on June 16, 1951, and she preceded him in death on June 2, 2011.Don worked at Tecumseh Products for 35 years until retiring in 1986 and also worked for Raisin Township Fire Department from 1969 until 1990, retiring as Assistant Chief. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 9937, both in Tecumseh. Don was a loving husband, father and grandpa and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.He is survived by his children; Linda (John) Sannes and Nancy (Jerry) Andrus, both of Adrian, Chuck (Karen) Hannah of Black Hawk, Colo., Sandy Sisty of Adrian, Jackie (Mike) Allshouse of Tecumseh, Tom Hannah of Tecumseh, Jeff Hannah of Dexter, Mich., and Jim (Sherri) Hannah of Tecumseh; four sisters, Joyce German of Tecumseh, Ruthann Teller of Petersburg, Mich., Marion Berchard of Riverview, Mich., and Vicki (Jeff) Hensen of Adrian; eighteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Don was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shay Hannah; four brothers, Jerry, Raymond, Harry and Michael; two sisters, Doris Harriott and Brenda Hannah.Visitation was held on Friday, June 21, 2013, from 1-8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes, where a vigil service was held at 7 p.m. The funeral mass was held on Saturday, June 22 at 11 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Clinton, with the Rev. Fr. Daniel Wheeler of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church as celebrant.Rite of Committal followed in Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh.Visitation also took place on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass.
