Donald C. LaBounty

Donald C. LaBounty passed away unexpectedly at his home in Ellenton, Fla., on September 30, 2015.

Donald was born August 17, 1922 to Lena and Theodore (Ted) LaBounty.

Serving in the Navy during World War II he was aboard the ship U.S.S. Capricornus in the South Pacific.

He worked in sales for Tecumseh Products, working in offices in Tecumseh, Mich., Tupelo, Miss., and Somerset, Ky. Retiring from the Products in 1986, Donald and his wife Bethany (who preceded him in death) moved to Ellenton, Fla.

Donald was a member of the Grand Chapter of Michigan Order of Eastern Star No. 51; Past Master of Michigan, Tecumseh Masonic Lodge 69F-4M; life member of Northern Masonic Valley of Detroit; life member of Royal Arch Masonic of Michigan Tecumseh Chapter No. 42; American Legion Post Tecumseh, Michigan 0034; Shriners Oleika Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Lexington, Ky., 009167.

Surviving are children: Judith (Dennis) Vine, James (Hilda) Ripley; grandchildren Julie Beth (Andrew) Szypka, Jennifer (Donnie) Duttine, Theresa Smith; great-grandchildren Shana (Erick) Scharer, Bradley Szypka, Kristie, Devin and Sarah Duttine and Taryn Pinter and Ben Smith and many loving nieces and nephews and special friend Nick Curcio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Bethany; granddaughter Debra Sue Vine; sisters Ruth Puffer, June Pichler, Ellen Stitt; and brother Raymond.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
