Donald Chris Winkler

Donald Chris Winkler, age 84, of Raisin Twp., died Sunday, October 14, 2012 at Lenawee Medical Facility. He was born on December 2, 1927 to Christian Joseph and Pauline Barbara (Petri) Winkler. Donald married Clara Mae Morgan on October 20, 1951 in Shelbina, Missouri and she survives. In 1965 Donald and Clara moved to the Tecumseh area. Donald proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Donald was a plumber, pipe fitter with Local 190 in Ann Arbor, retiring in 1990.In addition to his wife, Clara, he is survived by his children, Clarice Winkler of Lansing, D. Jeffrey (Jill) Winkler of Wellsboro, Pa., Gregory (Lisa) Winkler of Adrian, Paula (Dan) Shaffer of Tecumseh, Marty (Chelly) Winkler of Dublin, Calif., Scott (Crystal) Winkler of Adrian; one sister, Bernice (John) Buckman of Indiana; nine grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.Funeral services were held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh with Fr. Tom Helfich officiating. Visitation was held before the service on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Tecumseh American Legion Underwood-Orr Post No. 34, and Tecumseh V.F.W. Hall Slater Post No. 4187. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tecumseh American Legion. Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
