Donald J. Curtis

Donald J. Curtis, age 93, of Tecumseh died Friday, July 25, 2014 at his home. He was born July 9, 1921 in Chesaning, Mich., to Howard and Cora (Johnson) Curtis. On February 23, 1946 in Jackson he married Vera “Maxine” Barth. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2014. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Donald retired on June 1, 1988 from D & C Stores as a printer. He was an active member of the Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Tecumseh. Donald loved to paint western pictures, do woodworking and spend time in the garden.Surviving Donald are: one son, John (Jacqueline) Curtis of Grosse Ile; two daughters, Carol (Richard) Zahn of Saline and Kathleen (David) Naebeck of Ann Arbor; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Maxine, he was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services for Donald will be private. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.c-om. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Mercy Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements were under the direction of Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
