Donald R. Kittle

Donald R. Kittle, age 74, of Tecumseh passed away, Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. Don was born in Junior, West Virginia on December 12, 1938 to Murl and Dorothy (Zirkle) Kittle. He graduated in 1957 from Belington High School in Belington, West Virginia. Don married Gloria Scott on April 16, 1960 in Oakland, Md., and she survives. During his life Don worked for Davis Electric in Elkins, W. Va., Roadway Express in Ohio and Massey Ferguson Test Farm in Macon. Don retired from Tecumseh Public Schools in 2000. He was a member of the Tecumseh United Methodist Church. Don loved his family and they always came first in his life. He loved going to his grandchildren’s activities and never wanted to miss any of them. Don and Gloria enjoyed taking trips with the family camping. Don enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking and listening to bluegrass music. In addition to his wife, Gloria, Don is survived by three sons, Greg and Sue Kittle of Vesuvius, Va., Tim and Lily Kittle of Clinton, Mich., and Jamie and Valerie Kittle of Monroe, Mich; one aunt, Avelene Kittle of W. Va; 10 grandchildren, Christa, Jennifer, Nathan, Casey, Samantha, Quincy, Hallie, Noah, Daniel and Beau and three great-grandchildren, Clifton, Samantha and Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Shirley Ann and a brother, Robert.Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Don’s Life will be held on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Tecumseh United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Miller officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh and on Thursday at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Burial of cremains will be in Brookside Cemetery at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at Memorial contributions may be made to the Tecumseh United Methodist Church or Hospice of Lenawee. Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
