Doris “Dede” Phillips

Doris “Dede” Phillips, age 76 of Tecumseh, passed away February 10, 2015, at her home, under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. She was born on February 13, 1938, in Tecumseh, the daughter of Horace and Marjorie (Righter) Phillips.Dede was a member of the Tecumseh Friends Church and most recently attended the Tecumseh Church of the Nazarene. She made a lifelong career as a pharmacy tech, working for Cameron’s Pharmacy, Lamb’s and retired from Schmidt & Son’s Pharmacy. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and crocheting many items for her family. Dede’s greatest joy was the time she got to spend with her family and her nieces and nephews, in which she was proud to be called their second mother. Dede is survived by her brother David (Cathy) Phillips of Tecumseh; sister Marie Phillips of Adrian and her many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Jennie Hollis and Thelma Phillips and a brother Chuck Phillips.A memorial service to celebrate Dede’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at the Tecumseh Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Gary Miller officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12, noon, until the time of service. Inurnment of her cremated remains will take place later in the spring at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian.
