Doris Saville

On a beautiful spring evening, May 4, 2014, Doris Lucille Toneman Saville went to be with Jesus. Christ is risen! Alleluia! Because He lives, Doris also now lives with Him in heaven. The victory is won! She joins Jesus, her husband Earl, her parents, two sons — Bobby and Richard (Sheila) Cadwalader, and a company of angels in heaven.Doris is survived by three daughters, Jeanne (Mark) Zimmerman of Norton Shores, Mich.; Pamela (Thomas) Schroeder of Milan, Mich.; and Patricia Hershey of Medina, Ohio. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and eighteen (soon to be 20) great-grandchildren.Doris was born in Chicago, Ill., on October 3, 1922 to Henry and Josephine (Tessar) Toneman. On February 20, 1943 she married Earl Ernest Saville (a country boy from North Dakota). He introduced this city girl to country living in two of the homes they lived in over the years. They lived in Champaign, Galesburg, Palatine, and Kankakee, Illinois; Bay Village and Columbia Station, Ohio, and Tecumseh and Saline, Mich.Doris was a wonderful mother for 69 years and a talented and efficient secretary. She was also active in the Hospital Auxiliary and bridge clubs in Tecumseh and did much volunteer work in the various churches she attended. She was a member of Christ Our King Lutheran Church in Saline, Mich. She loved to play games (particularly bridge and Scrabble) and loved to spend time with her family.She will be greatly missed, but her family is thrilled that she gets to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior!A private family memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 11, at Christ Our King Lutheran Church in Saline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Christ Our King Lutheran Church in Saline. Arrangements by Ochalek-Stark Funeral Home in Milan.
