Edward “Gregg” Long

Edward “Gregg” Long, age 68, of Tecumseh, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at home surrounded by his family. He was born March 31, 1946, in Adrian to John and Janice (Clapp) Long. Gregg had been the co-owner and operator of Long Motor Sales for 20 years with his father. After retirement, he started another business, Long’s Outdoor Power, which is now run by his son, Scot. Gregg enjoyed snowmobiling, riding his Harley and spending time at the cabin in Mancelona, Mich. He loved to work with his hands and could fix anything. He served on the City of Tecumseh Fire Department and had been Assistant Chief for many years.Gregg is survived by his mother, Janice Long of Tecumseh; a son, Scot (Mishie) Long of Tecumseh; a daughter, Lori (Kevin) Waycaster of Canton, Ga.; brothers and sisters, Diana (Richard) Westgate of Britton, Gaylord (Anne) Long of Mt. Dora, Fla., Eric (Patty) Long of Macon, Sylvia (John) Silberhorn of Adrian, Jeff Long of Victorsville, Calif., and Kristen (Dan) Hall of Tecumseh; and four grandchildren, Braylon and Kylinn Long and Cole and Reagan Waycaster. He was preceded in death by his father, John Long and a son, Paul Long.Funeral services for Gregg will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with Pastor Jeff Barbieri officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Burial of cremains will be in Brookside Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh, where there will be a firefighters walk through held at 7 p.m. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.andersonfuneralservices.com. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee. Envelopes are available at the Anderson Funeral Home, Tecumseh.
