Eldon W. Reeck, age 88 of Britton, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 at Cambrian Assisted Living.He was born March 4, 1925, in Trenton, Mich., the youngest child of William and Emma (Koch) Reeck.On October 25, 1946, he married Betty Louise Grudier in Allen Park, Mich., and she survives.Eldon retired from Tecumseh Products with several years of service. He loved the farm in Britton where he and Betty raised their three sons. He was a member of Britton Congregational Christian Church. Eldon and Betty enjoyed playing golf and euchre, and spending winters in Arizona and Florida.In addition to Betty, his wife of 67 years, he is survived by their sons: David (Sammy) of China; Donald (Alexa) of Whitmore Lake; and James (Deborah) Reeck of Britton; grandchildren: Melissa, Nicholas (Crystal), Lucia and Elaine; and a brother, Melvin (Frances) Reeck of Adrian.He was preceded in death by a brother, Emery Reeck; and sisters, Helen Niemann and Rachel Koths.Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at Britton Congregational Christian Church with Rev. James Schenk officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the service.Contributions in memory of Eldon may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
