Eleanor Mueller

Eleanor Mueller, age 90, of Macon peacefully passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, with her family by her side. She was born May 13, 1929 the daughter of the late Percy A. and Lilah R. (Frayer) Cadmus. Her husband of 63 years, Donald L. Mueller, preceded her in death. 

For years, Eleanor was an active quilter, always offering a warm smile and an open heart to those she met. Her zest for things she was interested in rubbed off on those around her, always willing to encourage those new to quilting. Many have memories of Eleanor through the many baby and bed quilts she made. She was also known as an active member of the Britton Congregational Church, volunteering many hours with the Women’s Fellowship. She treasured time with family and friends, always happy to play a game of euchre. 

Eleanor is survived by her two daughters, Priscilla “Penny” (Ralph) Bartlett of Mashpee, Mass., and Denise Mueller of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Charlotte Patterson of Adrian; one brother, Russell (Yvonne) Cadmus of Tecumseh; three grandchildren, Katrina (Geoff) Gross of Marshfield, Mass., Christopher Bartlett of Mashpee, Hollis “Alex” Bartlett (Nattie Trogdon) of Brooklyn, N.Y. and two great-granddaughters, Madeline and Vivian Gross. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dick, John, Gerald and Thomas Cadmus, and sister, Elaine Renka. 

Visitation for Eleanor will be on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Rev. James Schenck officiating. Inurnment will be in Ridgeway Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Women’s Fellowship of Britton Congregational Church or a charity of your choice.
