Ella M. Barnett

Ella M. Barnett formerly of Tecumseh, went to be with our Lord and God on July 16, 2019.

She was born on October 9, 1940, in Fayetteville, Ark. to Earl N. and Linda C. (Stufflebeam) Fuller. On July 18, 1959, she married James Barnett in Baldwin, Kan. Ella tried to always be the peacemaker in all affairs and had a very gentle disposition. She accepted Christ as her Savior at a young age. Ella included God in her life through the good times and the tough times. Ella was diagnosed with stage-4 lung cancer in December of 2018. She decided to not go through the torture of chemotherapy or radiation treatments which devastate the immune system and enrichen the medical system while leaving the patient financially and physically ruined in so many cases. Her faith in God helped so much to keep her spirits up. She was a light that shone God’s love to all around her. She had been ready to go home to be with the Lord for a long time. She didn’t complain to God, but she did wonder why this cancer happened to her. (She never smoked.)

Now she is Home, seeing our Lord face to face, and having a grand family reunion with all the others who had accepted Christ as their Savior while on earth.

Ella had been employed by Herrick Memorial Hospital and then the Lenawee Intermediate School District as an Administrative Secretary, retiring in 1993. Ella was a member of the Ridgeway Church of the Nazarene, the American Association of Medical Transcriptionists, Professional Secretaries International, and was a former member of the Pittsfield Fire Departments Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed hunting with her family. She also enjoyed quilting and was a member of the QP Dolls quilting group. She is survived by two sons, Mark (Candy) Barnett and Mike Barnett. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
