Elnora E. Groover

Elnora E. Groover, of Tecumseh, a devoted Christian, went to be with her heavenly Father on June 24, 2015, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on March 14, 1926, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Donald Morris and Bernice Mae (Schooley) Donehoo. She married William R. Groover, Jr. on December 24, 1948.Elnora dearly loved her family, doing crossword puzzles and writing children’s stories, some of which were published. Elnora was an active member of the Tecumseh Church of Christ by teaching Bible classes, and visiting and preparing meals. She was also a supporter of the Lenawee Humane Society. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all those who knew and loved her.In addition to her husband, Bill, Elnora is survived by two sons; Jim Groover (Kim Moored) of Wayland, Mich.; Randy Groover (Charron) of Wayland, Mich.; and two daughters; Suzanne (Jeff) Custer of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; Roxanne Wahrenberg (Gunter) of Clinton, Mich.; a daughter-in-law; Susie Groover; a brother Don Donehoo; eight grandchildren Drew Custer, Alison Seright; Jessica Raabe, Nicki Niehls, Brandon Custer; Andy, Samantha and Kelsey Groover, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son William R. Groover, III.; and a sister, Rose Mary Fox. Visitation for Elnora was held Monday, June 29, at Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Homes from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held at the Tecumseh Church of Christ on Tuesday, June 30, at 11 a.m. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Cremation followed the services and inurnment will be held at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens at a later date.
