Emma ‘Alice’ Bohannon

Emma ‘Alice’ Bohannon, 84, of Adrian, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Cambrian Assisted Living.Born June 7, 1931, in Fargo, N.D., she was the daughter of Earl L. and Lauretta (Koenig) Evans. She graduated from Sand Creek High School with the class of 1949. On May 31, 1952, Alice married Elmer E. Bohannon in Angola, Ind. Elmer preceded her in death on June 21, 2013.Alice worked for Ottawa Machine Products for 28 years retiring in 1993. She was a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church where she served as secretary and a Sunday school teacher. She was very involved in her grandchildren’s lives and activities. Alice enjoyed canning, gardening and never met a stranger. She loved talking to everyone.Most precious to Alice was her family including her children, Deborah (Jim) Stephenson of Tecumseh, Denise (Jack) Edwards of Tecumseh, Douglas (Julie) Bohannon of Grosse Pointe Woods, Donna Rossell of Calif.; grandchildren, Andrew (Lydia), Megan (Jason), Lindsey (Mitch), Allison, Lacie, Thomas, Jan (Dan), Dawn, Jennifer, Daniel, Evan and Collin; great grandchildren, Norah, Leyton, Andersen, Justin, Normal and Linnea; siblings, Earl (Julia) Evans, Frank Evans all of Adrian, Earlene Carr of Hudson, Ruth (Ross) Double of Sand Creek, Nancy (Alan) Harvey of Adrian and Judy Riddering of Adrian.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Paul.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2015, at Wagley Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Tatsak officiating. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park in Adrian. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m.In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Alice may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
